Our story
The story that brought Shaye and I together is a long but interesting one. Shaye and I both went to school at UAlbany for sports (and an education I guess). Shaye was a star softball player, racking up way more wins and rings than I ever could dream of. I was a semi-successful offensive lineman on the team (no he was amazing! - played in every single game from his redshirt freshman year to his senior season - he even played his entire junior and senior season with broken ankles!!!), and definitely looked the part. Weighing in at a whopping 315 pounds by the time Shaye came to Albany, there was not a chance in hell I could ever willingly go up to her and spark up a conversation. I did, however, notice Shaye. I mean, how could I not!? She was (and still is) the most beautiful girl I had ever laid my eyes on. She has a smile that lights up an entire room with little to no effort, she’s tall, more athletic than most of the guys on my football team (including me), and all around looked like the absolute perfect person for me. BUT, I knew it wasn’t my time. From the second I laid eyes on her, I knew I just needed to wait… and wait…. And wait…….. After 5 EXTREMELY long years, and about 80 pounds lighter later, the time had come. I just so happened to see an instagram story Shaye posted of her looking absolutely stunning as usual, and decided to slide into the old DM’s (with a fire emoji ~ so romantic). Luckily for my sake, Shaye had been waiting for me to do that for a few months. Little did she know how long I had waited for. From the second we started talking, I knew she was someone I wanted to get to know more and more.

So Adam moves to Buffalo in June 2022 and we no longer have to do long distance which was the best feeling ever. After a long summer of traveling and searching for jobs, Adam lands one. Then I buy a house and it feels like everything has fallen into place. Over the next year we go to Bills games, hang out with amazing friends and family, countless hours playing Sequence, watch movies/shows, having Adam try all the best food spots in Buffalo, renovations on the house (and by renovations I mean DIY), weekend trips away, lots of sports activities, and laughing the entire way. We were only about 6-7 months into our relationship when family & friends would ask “when is the wedding” or “You’re next!”
Adam proposed on May 13th 2023 and it was the best day of my life. We went to our local Coffee shop and then headed to Holland’s Tulip Fest. We then stopped at Bar Bill to get some wings and I think for Adam’s nerves to calm a little. We pulled into our driveway and I saw Taylor, Jaden & Ethan there all dressed up and excited. I got excited because I hadn't seen them in a while and wondered what they were doing here. Well, I figured it out almost immediately when I saw Adam all serious in the front yard. I’ve dreamt of this day my entire life and it was finally here to the man of my dreams. It was so magical and exciting, I cried immediately. But Adam had another surprise up his sleeve and brought me to our backyard where his family, my family, and some of our closest friends were there to surprise us for an engagement party. It was seriously the best day ever and we felt so loved.

We have spent summer 2023 traveling a lot to see friends and family but we also love staying home, making cocktails, and watching movies. I have thought about my wedding since I was a little girl and now that it is finally happening it is even better than I could have imagined.
This life with Adam is the greatest happiest feeling I have ever experienced and I cannot wait to be his wife. Adam is the kindest, most patient, silly, strong, loving man and I am so blessed to say I get to spend the rest of my life with him.
Every single day I constantly think that I must be living in a dream. Shaye, the girl of my dreams, not only became my girlfriend. She not only became my fiance. Shaye is soon going to become the woman that I will spend the rest of my life with. She is the happiest, fun-loving, dancing QUEEN that I am so insanely lucky to call my everything. I can’t wait to experience whatever life sends our way. Get your dancing shoes ready y'all, it’s gonna be a party.
